Motor Pump

A motor pump is a mechanical device that uses an electric motor to compress air or liquid. It is used to move fluids under pressure, such as water in a sprinkler system or hydraulic fluid in a hydraulic system. The basic operating principle of a pump is that it uses energy to move fluids from one point to another. All pumps contain a moving component. The moving component (impeller, vane, piston) displaces air, decreasing the pressure and creating a partial vacuum. Air or fluid then moves into this area of low pressure..While a motor is itself a driving mechanism which can be used to power another device, a pump is a mechanical device which requires a driving mechanism in order to function. Motors use electrical energy to produce mechanical energy, while pumps in Lethbridge use mechanical energy to perform work.
