A refrigerant air dryer is a device used to remove moisture from compressed air systems. Moisture in compressed air can cause various problems, including corrosion, freezing, and reduced efficiency of pneumatic equipment. Refrigerant air dryers are widely used due to their efficiency and reliability.
How a Refrigerant Air Dryer Works:
Warm, Moist Air Enters: Compressed air enters the dryer at a high temperature and humidity level.
Cooling Process: The compressed air passes through a heat exchanger where it is cooled down by a refrigerant. As the air cools, the moisture condenses into liquid water.
Moisture Separation: The condensed moisture is separated from the air stream. This water is collected and drained from the system.
Reheating: The dried air is reheated before exiting the dryer. This reheating helps prevent condensation in the downstream piping.
