A drafting zone in textile manufacturing typically consists of a set of rotating rollers, usually arranged in pairs as "top rollers" and "bottom rollers," with the primary function of progressively pulling and thinning a fiber strand (sliver) by increasing the speed of each roller pair, creating a "break draft" zone at the beginning and a "main draft" zone where most of the fiber attenuation occurs; other key components include aprons to guide and control the fibers between rollers, and pressure mechanisms to apply necessary tension on the top rollers depending on the fiber type
